Our topic this term is Predator!
It’s time to take a walk on the wild side Year 3! Find out who’s coming to visit. Is it a bug munching lizard or an eagle-eyed bird of prey? Whatever it is, do you think you can handle it?
We will be learning about creepy crocs and amazing alligators, the deadly assassin bug and the voracious Venus flytrap. We'll be creating a leaflet about our favourite predator and writing poetry about a predator or it's prey.
Then use what you know about the best of the beasts we will be creating the ultimate predator; the apex of the food chain. Cross your dad with a peregrine falcon or your nan with a great white shark. What incredible species can you imagine? Feeling peckish? Let’s jump aboard the food chain.

Yoimoji
Each week, we focus on a different 'Yoimoji' value and our class ambassador is based on this value. Find out which value we are focussing on and who is our weekly class ambassador by looking on our Class Dojo Class Page.
Year 3 will have homework books for Maths and English. Each week, the children will be given specific pages to complete in these books. The maths homework book will go out on Monday afternoon and is due back in on Wednesday Morning. The English homework book will be given out on Friday and due back in Monday morning. Class Dojo will be used to let parent/guardians know which pages are to be completed.
Every Friday, children in Holly class will have their spelling test. As part of their homework, children are asked to practise their spellings at home as part of their homework. Class Dojo will be used to let parent/guardians know which week of spellings we are on and these can be found on the spelling list below.
As reading is fundamental to all areas of learning, we encourage all our children to read at least once a day at home. Children have their reading book to read aloud to an adult and this book will be changed on a Monday and Thursday. There is also a link below to the topic reading list which lists the books that children might find interesting to read to an adult or have an adult read to them.
Year 3 will have PE on Monday and Friday mornings. Children will need their PE kit on these days including appropriate footwear. 'PE stars' are given out after each PE lesson so have a look on Class Dojo on Monday and Friday after school to see who has been chosen.
