Welcome to Year 2 Birch and Willow Classes. We are taught by Miss Hathaway and Miss Berry. Our learning is supported by Mrs Delaney, Mrs Ledwich and Mrs McCaskie.
We Love To Read!
In Year 2, we understand that reading is a vital part of our learning... it also allows us to use our imagination and it is a lot of fun. Remember to read at home each night, in order to earn a Dojo point the following morning. Don't worry if you forget to read, the grown ups at school will read with you!
A quick reminder!
Please ensure your child has a full P.E kit in school (t-shirt, hooded or zipper jacket, joggers/shorts, pumps or trainers). Our P.E lessons will take place on Wednesday mornings. Please ensure your child has a water bottle in school, these can be purchased from the school office at a cost of £1. Thanks!
Learning at home...
This term's topic is called Beach Combers. We thoroughly enjoyed our Y2 Formby Beach Trip on Thursday 2nd May, please see below for photographs of the day! We will now be using this experience to learn about the features and wildlife found at the beach, underwater creatures and their habitats and lots more! Look out for an invitation to our next Parent Drop-In afternoon, coming soon...
Many thanks, Miss Hathaway and Miss Berry
The Y2 children have been working so hard on their coding skills recently. Don't forget to use your Purple Mash logins at home, you can access coding, games, activities and more!
You are also able to access Gooseberry Planet at home - our e-safety programme. Again you can access a range of games and activities all based around staying safe online.
If you have lost any of your logins, please speak to a member of the Y2 team.
Each week we are developing our skills in painting and drawing. We have so far been focussing on the techniques of sketching and stippling. The children have created some wonderful artwork in their sketchbooks.
The links below will take you to some short videos, which we have looked at to develop our skills. Why not have a go at home!
